I received a suggestion that I find interesting. We could make a section on the site where people could download thrown out/past versions of the server world(s).
Example, I really liked our first, 1.1 map. Well then I could go to the IN site and download it from there and play on singleplayer!
What do you think?

I can. We can use google docs as the place to download things. The page will have links where then you can download the worlds :)
Deletego ahead and start sending me the worlds using google docs (too big for email) if you can. If you don't want to do google docs, we can do another sharing program such as dropbox or adfly
Deletebtw, on the server it would be cool if we had a "featured" world where every month it would change, so it is like the "world of the month." We would download a very famous world (from planetminecraft, for ex.) and have it on the server. We could play with it for a month and on the last day we would have a big party on it (maybe blowing it up, I don't know :P ). Would be pretty fun ;)

DeleteI just realized how big our 1.1 world was when i started the upload to GoogleDoc...
DeleteIn 5 minutes, it uploaded 1% of it because the world is 523MB large! That greatly surpasses my upload limit so sorry, but that is sadly not an option :P

Correction: I didn't look correctly, I have 5GB of upload space, not 5MB :P
DeleteSo it still works out just fine, but Imagine it will still take you awhile to download them afterwards... You sure there's no way I can simply copy/paste them into the page itself?

I'm afraid I have some more disturbing news. I decided to check the world size of our new 1.3 world and it appears to be 311MB large!
DeleteThe reason this is disturbing is that we managed to make this world 3/5 of the size of our 1.1 world in 1/4 of the time!
I urge you NOT TO EXPLORE UNLESS IT'S ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!

You cannot copy/paste into the page. However, we could use dropbox or adfly or mediafire. The latter 2 are what most MCers use. I will look into them
DeleteAdfly won't work (URL shortener, not downloader). I haven't checked dropbox yet, but you do have to install it so mediafire may be best. It is free to use (though you can pay to have better benifits) so you, Sacha, could get a free account, upload the files, and we can put the links on the site. Just be warned the free account only allows individual files to be 200 MB files at max, though you do get 50GB of storage.

Ya, google docs will actually work great. I will actually download your world files and make them all into one file so it is easier to download. People can download it from the official IN email (of course :P ). I can then post links to the download on the site.
