My First Poll :D

Hey guys, I just wanted to post to tell you to check out the new poll I made (My first one :D). Full credit for the poll idea and set up goes to Sacha. Anyway, I just wanted to talk a little about the poll. The IN is facing a crisis. We have lost many members since the closure of LU, and our current roster (Which needs an update :P) puts our member count at around 15 (Including Dan, Star, and the Former Delta members). On top of that, we have been fighting with each other left and right. As well as the fact that Minecraft has started to become dull and boring for some of us. My earlier post suggested that the IN move to a new game, and that is what the poll is for. Now to be fair I threw in pretty much the basics of everyones stand-point (Meaning for people who wanted to go on that Tekkit thing, that would be the "Stay on Minecraft" option). Personally, I am voting for RuneScape.
Here is my reasoning:

1. Great Guild Functions (Ranks, Guildwars, Chat, etc.)
2. It's a popular, safe, and trustworthy game
3. Fun quests, cool armor, Awesome skills, etc.
4. The game would promote teamwork and allow us to really have a lot of fun.
5. Free!* (Explained below)
6. The ability to recruit more people into the Guild! (As I said before, More Friends= More Fun)
7. Capes

Now I to be fair, RuneScape is not the "Best" or "Most Perfect" game ever and there are some things in the game that are boring (Such as the combat Mechanic (Clicking on an enemy and watching as your character- Hits with sword, Blocks with Shield, Hits with sword, Blocks with Shield, Hits with sword, Blocks with Shield, Hits with sword, Blocks with Shield, etc.)) and the game also has its  players who think they are cool because they can say obscene words. This of course is an issue that can be resolved using the Profanity Filter option. Now as far as I know this option is still in RuneScape (It was when I played, and usually all major games (World of Warcraft, Star Wars, etc.) have filters so that you can't cuss and if others around you do, it appears as "*" in the chat box). But as I mentioned it has been a while since I played RuneScape. If worse comes to worse I'm sure the magic of YouTube can help me to figure out how to do it :D :P. Now I would really like to hear you guy's questions and opinions regarding this post and the new poll (Which will expire in a week or something).

See ya Laters!

* RuneScape is a Free to Play game, although  the free stuff gets more and more boring as your level increases. Membership is very cheap ( RS= 7$ a month while LU= 10$ a month). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY A MEMBERSHIP TO HAVE FUN ON THIS GAME. I just want to make that perfectly clear. :P

  1. Just looked up RuneScape... could someone please tell me where the building in this game is...

    1. You can buy a membership and build in your own personal home. Not every fun game has to be centered around building.

  2. My vote goes towards Minecraft, though you can ignore it because I don't go on the server that much anyways. But if we do, I know how to add survival to it:
    1. With essentials (which we have) we can make shops that we can trade items for, such as 1 diamond for $300 and use that money to buy maybe 20 iron ingots from someone else. Or of course ask for iron ingots directly.
    2. Adventures together: whenever we are on, we often have everyone building and the only thing we do together is build in pairs or chat. Having a large mining group of 5 would be so much fun
    3. PVP: Minecraft-TNT=Boring. I know we want to protect our buildings, but if we get worldguard (think we have already) we could define some regions where fire, creepers, and tnt is enabled. Sieges on each other castles while Bane shoots arrows at me but I am the distraction while Sacha fires the tnt at his castle (not saying I am going to attack you bane :P )
    4. A world of minigames would be great as well. Spleef, a game of staying on the stage, RunForTheWool, a racing game where 2 sides use all their surviving skills to reach the goal, and etc. Search these example games on google to see how fun they really are!
    5. Quests: Spawn 100 zombies and we could have a war! Or spawn the ender dragon over again to finish the story (again!)
    6. Stories: our best builders could create puzzles and a story could be attatched to them! Can you go through the labrynth of armies of creepers and stalking endermen (for ex.)
In summary, we got trading system, mining and exploring survival style together, PVP, Minigames, challenges that we may just die on (really, the few zombies that spawn are nothing :P ), and stories!
Also, if we want tekkit, we don't need to go on someone elses server. I heard that we can have tekkit work with bukkit. tekkit really is just a collection of mods but it supposedly can work with bukkit if you get the right version.
I am sure Runescape is a great game but like tyro said, where is the building? We want more survival-ness, but we don't want to get rid of building all together! Also, even though Runescape is free, I already have the full version of MC, so I would rather play MC full version instead of the free (limited) version of another.
And now my long thoughts of this are other.
And like Bane, I am too lazy to sign in

    1. I agree completely. But, one of the main problems here is that there is not enough to do. Both of the alternatives to Minecraft are role playing medieval style games, and if that's what we want, Hack Slash Mine is a great alternative. It's in alpha still, but it's mostly finished and open to anyone. Also, many of the things Bane listed as pros for RS apply to h/m as well.

Guild Functions: Not out yet, but coming soon!
Popular, safe, and trustworthy- we all know that applies to Minecraft.
Fun quests, cool armor, Awesome skills, etc.
The game is coming out with a quest line and NPCs to interact with. The game also has more that vanilla armor. You can still craft it, but things you find often come with great enchantments to increase your health, magic, strength, etc. There are also named rares. I know of a bow called Beaureguard or something like that which doubles damage and gives a bonus to your stats.
There is a skill system coming out very soon. The GUI is already in the second inventory screen now. The stats are very simple to understand and upgrade too. Agility is currently defunct, but there are still good things to level up.
      Strength, increases melee damage.
Dexterity, increases ranged damage, defense, and more likely to get a critical hit.
      Intelligence, increases efficiency of spells
      Wisdom, increases total mana (magic)
      Fortitude, increases total health
Promoting teamwork: The game has boss fights, thickly populated dungeons, and epic towers that cannot be completed alone, even at max level.
Free! If you have MC you don't need to pay for it.
Recruiting people to the guild when it is out is possible.
Capes can be worn in one of the 8 armor slots. 5 other slots not included in the 8 have no known use, but it will be awesome.

The game has 3 classes, and several ways to play each, allowing for a wide variety of gameplay styles to keep things interesting, which along with the epic dungeons, towers, and quest line, isn't necessary.

Warrior: Melee based, this one focuses on stats in this order:
      Strength
      Fortitude
      Dexterity
      Intelligence
      Wisdom

Scout: Ranged based, starts with 64 arrows. Stats in this order:
      Dexterity
      Strength
      Fortitude
      Intelligence
      Wisdom

Mage: Starts with a wand that shoots a Holy Bolt. Stats in this order:
      Intelligence
      Wisdom
      Fortitude
      Strength
      Dexterity

I really think this version of MC would be a good alternative, and I see no reason not to try it before going to another game we will probably pay for.
