Yesterday we had 3 users get on. They abused the system to spawn things from creative, they griefed entire regions, swore, and use hacked clients to break 20 leaves at a time, move super fast, and more. (Don't worry, a clean backup from just before they started was restored.)
Who are they? They were
- xKena
- creeper_husher
- tanhead
They said they found our IP on a website post somewhere, but they may have been lying. For all we know they're some of those people who have a YouTube channel all about griefing.
Immediately after this I suggested a temporary white-list, that was maybe permanent. Sacha has said this would not be a good idea, especially for when we go public. That's got me thinking that we need to set up the server so people have to play for X amount of time before they get member, and even longer until "trusted" or something like that. Anyways, the problem is under control, and if you see anyone new to the server, just kinda monitor them.
I know this is a bad time to "disappear" but I have a friend coming to my house for the week. He is flying all they way from Malaysia, so I will be busy with him. I will try my best to be active and help us get through this, but don't expect me to be on that much.
ReplyDeleteSorry :(
PS: Happy New Year!
PSS: The world did not explode!
Gah, why is it that I am finally needed the day after I say I can't be on for about a week?! >:(
DeleteOh... I didn't know you couldn't be on. D: Sorry...
DeleteThis just proves that we arent invisible on the server radar. SOMEONE found us, somehow. IDK how, but we gotta be careful.

jsyk, the server IP is at the bottom of the home page.
ReplyDeleteI vote we get a permanent whitelist, don't go public, and don't add more people at all.

Although that might be the safest course of action, I don't think many people will agree with you.
