So What?
I could keep going because the stats keep on getting more and more interesting. However, it is already enough data for one post. The reason I posted this was 1. Because it is really cool 2. I have a point to get across. What is my point? Well, notice that Redstone is the most popular post and 3rd most popular key word. If you search "cool redstone contraptions", the Imagine Nation is the top non-video result, above the minecraft forum even! What does this show? Users and Google like posts about awesome Minecraft stuff. Users like it since they search it and it is on top. Why is it on top? Probably because this site is owned by google, so it has some of the best search engine bots there are already installed. This is why we are the top of many search keywords.My idea is that the posting page will be where updates, polls, and other server stuff is put up, but also just cool reviews. It seems like searchers and google like it. This would make us more popular, which is useful since soon each pageview=$. Now remember, all the cash goes into paying for the server and we get cash to have the server, not the other way around (have the server to get cash). However, I have heard that some make $1000's a month and some $100's a day! While I doubt we will ever go that high, it sure would be nice if we got $50 a month in ads because that is about 2 big servers for free right there, not having to worry about donations. So I just wanted you to know that, especially once we have a server, I will be making my own video reviews and post them on the site, which equals more/bigger/better servers for us :D

Hey guys, IDK how well known or spread the news is on the web yet. But Lego is going to be releasing a new MMOG this fall. This time it's going to be completely free. It's being based off of the new Lego Chima series. I've seen some of the photos from it and it looks really cool. Just curious if any of you guys are possibly thinking about giving it a try.

Axe is my old friend, from FoD. He gave me a Red Parrot for free right when I joined the team. We have been friends ever since :D

The new Lego games probably will be childish, but I think that is a good choice. LU failed --for one reason-- because it was a game meant for under 10s but it was rated 10+ and most of its players were teens and adults. Then the game had kiddish and teenish and adultish parts to it, when it should have focused on one area. If they focus on just kid theme, then it will go well. I will probably play it because I like anything Lego and it is free ;)
DeleteYeah, Sacha is right. I haven't been able to switch over to MC. I'm willing to give the Lego Chima game a chance. That's how I am with most MMoG's. I know it's not going to be anything like Lego Universe was, but I hope it's going to be similar.

I don't think Lego is not trying to recreate Lego Universe. They are trying a 2nd time at MMOs, just like we are trying our server all over again. Sometimes starting over is a good idea (not saying LU should've closed though).

DeleteWhen is the server going to be up again? I've been waiting patiently for a long time, every day checking my multiplayer server list hoping to see green connection bars on the server named Imagine Nation - MineLife. I'm not annoyed that it's taking a while. If there is an important reason why it isn't up yet then that's OK. I was just wanting to know when it will be up again.

Server Alpha phase will be up in a week, hopefully. Just has taken a while for these reasons:
Delete1. had to wait for 1.5
2. a lot of planning
3. have to get $ to pay for the server
4. I have a life outside IN; Sacha and Ferf can't do much until there is a server to work with
etc. etc.

I can't, I'm technically "not old enough" to start this sort of business with a company. And I think Imagine has a pretty good idea of where he wants to go with this. Also, Ferf is off idk where (I'm not criticizing your absence Ferf, don't worry :P), so I'm gonna guess no :P Unless of course Imagine is secretly doing everything without me or anyone else knowing.

I have been busy. I do have a life outside of the team. Lately I have had about 1 hour of free time a day.
Also, Ferf is on vacation and Sacha can't do anything YET. Why? Because right now the bank of IN has $0, which isn't enough to run the server Hope to start earning money so running the server is possible. Plan on the server coming out in 1 week, depending on how much money we have and how fast bukkit updates. Of course, this will be Alpha phase (more in post).
I know you guys are very anxious, just know that soon we will have our server back to play :D

DeleteTrying, I just have no money. Once donations and ads are set up, Alpha phase will kick in. This will be simply the old world and a few plugins that we can all play on while the Dev team (mostly me) continually adds more and more. Beta will be when the main world is made and we are testing out the final things for the server. Live is when we go out to the public with a well developed server. There will still be updates, of course, but at the beginning of Live the server will be quite stable.
But pertaining to you guys, server will be out in a week and for now you can enjoy the old world we have come to love ;)

DeleteI have had a lot of school to do, preparing for SAT and all. Lately I have had little free time, which I have often used to be with my family, etc. etc. I am trying not to "dissappear" again, but life has been busy.
Also, this past week there was nothing for me to do because I had to wait for 1.5 to come out, since it has basically broken all bukkit plugins and server software (besides Vanilla).
Ok, glad to hear your still around. I don't mean to pressure you, I was just getting impatient because its been a while. Im glad the server will be back soon :D

I know :( I am very sorry not much is going on. I just happen to have a lot of homework because I am very behind. Also, there is nothing we can do with the server until I get a steady flow of $ coming in. I am planning on asking my dad tonight about using his PayPal and setting ads up by the weekend. Once the ads are verified and money starts coming in, the server will be back up. I will make a big post soon, but I won't promise because life is very busy right now. Going to be moving across the ocean in 3 weeks.

Sacha, perhaps you could host a vanilla server were we can get a start on building?
ReplyDeleteMight not be the best idea because it will make the transfer harder. I know this is taking a long time, but I am hoping the server will be open by next week with our old world with all of our castles and everything :)

I'm getting so tired of waiting. I've been sorta bored except for MineApocalypse, single player, and working on my server. Does anyone know when the server will be up again? I haven't heard anything about it for a long time. I'm not complaining, just asking.

The whitelist on the server is off. Anyone can connect but please don't invite anyone on without asking me unless they come from the IN. I don't want too many people on the server during BETA.
